Stacy Lee Kong is an award-winning editorial director with two decades of experience in the Canadian magazine industry. If there’s one unifying characteristic of her work, it’s that she is always trying to use compelling, honest and beautiful storytelling to uplift underrepresented voices and prompt audiences to consider the cultural, political and social structures that impact their lives. But like, in a fun way! (See: Friday Things, the independent media brand she founded in 2020, which uses pop culture as an entry point for larger conversations about power, oppression and identity.)

Stacy has worked at some of the largest magazine brands in Canada, including Flare, Canadian Living, House & Home and Chatelaine. Most recently, she was the founding editor-in-chief of 3 magazine, a national lifestyle magazine by, for and about immigrants and diasporic people.

She is also a speaker, educator and culture critic. She will happily talk about the intersection of culture and politics forever, which has led to features in the New York Times, Refinery29, Chatelaine, the Toronto Star, as well as on TV, radio and podcasts, including CTV News, Breakfast Television and CBC’s The National, Metro Morning and Here & Now.
